Symptoms

In Oracle Database 12.2 and higher,
the following query produces results other than expected:

SQL> select dbms_metadata.get_ddl('USER','<USERNAME>') from dual;


Actual output:


The expectation is that IDENTIFIED BY VALUES should return an actual password hash.
