SYSDBA Connections fail with ORA-1017 When Centrify Active Directory is Enabled (Doc ID 2708461.1)

Symptoms

This Applies when:

1) When connection of sysdba is failing as  : Error is ORA-01017--As below
> sqlplus "/as sysdba"

SQL*Plus: Release 12.1.0.2.0 Production on Mon Aug 31 06:25:29 2020

Copyright (c) 1982, 2014, Oracle. All rights reserved.

ERROR:
ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied

2) Customer using Password file Based Authentication.

3) Making sure ORA-1017 trouble.shooting steps were referred from below DOC of Password file Based Authentication,still error remains.

Then Action as Below:

1) Need to get  OS level Trace(strace,truss) depending on platform.As per below syntax passing sqlplus login via sysdba in command line.

truss -aeEdfo /tmp/1017.txt sqlplus / “as sysdba”

strace -frvttT -o /tmp/1017.txt sqlplus / “as sysdba”

 

2) Then in OS trace  if we observe the lines as below, connect and open function call: Calling centrify

connect(8, {sa_family=AF_UNIX, sun_path="/var/centrifydc/daemon2"}, 25) = 0>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> centrifydc

open("/<ORACLE_HOME>/lib/libnss_centrifydc.so.2", O_RDONLY|O_CLOEXEC)>>>>>>>>centrifydc
