Symptoms

 

Using LSNRCTL to start the listener or retrieve the status of the listener or list of services serviced by the listener results in the following series of errors:

Starting DISK$REFRESH:[V920REFRESH.NETWORK]tnslsnr: please wait...
.
TNSLSNR for VMS: Version 9.2.0.4.0 - Production
System parameter file is $1$DGA111:[V920REFRESH.NETWORK.ADMIN]listener.ora
Log messages written to DISK$REFRESH:[V920REFRESH.network.log]lsnr_alpha2.log
Error listening on:
(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=tcp)(HOST=myhostname.com)(PORT=1590))
TNS-12532: TNS:invalid argument
TNS-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error
TNS-502: Invalid argument
VMS Error: 515: page fault monitor is in use

These errors are also recorded in the listener log file.
