AFD: AFD Is Not Loaded Automatically After Node Reboot Due To Incorrect Dependencies (Doc ID 2724726.1)

Last updated on JULY 20, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Database - Enterprise Edition - Version 12.1.0.2 and later
Generic Linux

Symptoms

Problem Summary
---------------------------------------------------
Case # 1 : After node reboot, AFD fails to load automatically. This causes Clusterware startup fails as CSSD cannot find voting files. On Oracle Restart environments, it fails to mount ASM diskgroups due to missing AFD labels.

Case # 2 : AFD is successfully loaded however Clusterware doesn't start automatically. It does not show any errors in Clusterware logs because Clusterware startup was not initiated at all due to dependency errors.

1) '/var/log/messages' shows dependency errors between AFD and OHASD

Changes

Issue can be seen on any environments running on Linux 7 platform with AFD. In some cases, issue starts after OS updates are installed.
