MEM Agent Does Not Report Host Names As FQDN In The Dashboard (Doc ID 2733572.1)

Last updated on DECEMBER 03, 2020

Applies to:

MySQL Enterprise Monitor - Version 8.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

MEM Agent does not report host names as FQDN on the dashboard.

Check the setting for the Customize MySQL Server Name section of the Configuration->Settings.

Here is a page which shows the section and options: https://dev.mysql.com/doc/mysql-monitor/8.0/en/mem-ui-settings-customize-name-ref.html

If "Reported by agent (Default)" is selected, then MEM is showing the hostname reported by the mysql server, which is a non-fully qualified domain name (FQDN).
