Tfactl Diagcollect not detecting events ORA-OO700 from DB alert log (Doc ID 2740066.1)

Last updated on JANUARY 22, 2021

Applies to:

Oracle Database - Enterprise Edition - Version 20.1 Preview and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.
TFA must be able to detect all the incidents like ORA-600 in order to produce diagcollect logs .

Symptoms

TFA is not able to detect ORA-600 or ORA-700 events from DB alert log .

Changes

The way this works is when the TFA Scanner thread detects an event (e.g. ORA-00600, etc) it will index that event in a Lucene index. When you run diagcollect -srdc xxx it scans that Lucene index for the events specified in the SRDC.

In this case , the DB alert log location was not in default location and ORACLE_BASE was not specified in tfa_setup.txt
