Purpose
When a standby database receives redo that is corrupted or has an invalid checksum, the recovery process or archiver will raise errors similar to the following:
The most common causes for these errors and of receiving corrupted redo by the standby, are the firewall or a faulty network. If there is a firewall between the primary and standby databases, make sure the following features are disabled:
SQLNet fixup protocol
Deep Packet Inspection (DPI)
SQLNet packet inspection
SQL Fixup
SQL ALG (Juniper firewall)
Oracle DB-control component DOS
This note will help to determine where the corruption is introduced, weather it is due to the network or somewhere else, and will collect the required diagnostics to identify the cause.
