EMPTY (DB2 Varchar) Vs NULL (Oracle CHAR) Compare Pairs
(Doc ID 2756826.1)
Last updated on MAY 11, 2022
Applies to:
Oracle GoldenGate Veridata - Version 12.2.1.4.0 and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
Oracle GoldenGate Veridata is not handling EMPTY (DB2 Varchar) vs NULL (Oracle CHAR) compare pairs.
Data comparison between spaces or blank or NULL values has been handled in the compare-format string_en for Varchar/Varchar2 datatypes. Without string_en format, the comparison result are out-of-sync for these values.
Note-
After applying latest veridata patch and modifying the profiles CHAR/VARCHAR property to string_en , we still see records are out-of-sync for DB2 Null Value Vs Oracle BLANK value. This is applicable to DB2 VARCHAR datatype Vs
oracle CHAR data type
