Goal
OSCH requires a Hadoop client on the OS platform of the database system. In previous versions of Cloudera Distribution Including Apache Hadoop (CDH), it was possible to get a tarball installation of the Hadoop client from Cloudera. With CDH6, Cloudera is no longer providing tarball installations. This note discusses how to get a Hadoop client installation when using CDH6.
This document contains instructions for installing a CDH parcel on a database node for use with Oracle SQL Connector for HDFS.
This document also assumes that the Hadoop cluster is secured by Kerberos.
For RAC installations, the software must be installed and configured identically on all RAC nodes.
