Goal

This document applies to Oracle Database - Enterprise Edition - Version 9.2.0.5 to 19.11.0.0.0 [Release 9.2 to 19.11]
It explains how to diagnose memory allocation generated by abstract LOB. Abstract LOBs are temporary lobs returned from
queries involving XMLType columns.
As described in the note 1955135.1 pga allocated by abstract lob may not be released leading to pga memory exhaustion.
This node provides a sample testcase to reproduce this scenario. It gives the instruction to dump and analyze the memory
allocation. Do not execute this testcase in a production environment use it solely on test and training.
To correctly manage the abstract lob pga memory allocation read the following note use 1955135.1 Best practices for
XMLType Temporary LOB Usage carefully.
