Symptoms

Create index failed with :

 

ORA-29855: error occurred in the execution of ODCIINDEXCREATE routine
ORA-20000: Oracle Text error:
DRG-50857: oracle error in drvxtab.create_index_indexes
ORA-12801: error signaled in parallel query server P000
ORA-06512: at "CTXSYS.DRUE", line 171
ORA-06512: at "CTXSYS.TEXTINDEXMETHODS", line 316

 

OR SOMETIMES

 

ERROR at line 1:
ORA-29855: error occurred in the execution of ODCIINDEXCREATE routine
ORA-20000: Oracle Text error:
DRG-50857: oracle error in drvxtab.create_index_indexes
ORA-01652: unable to extend temp segment by 128 in tablespace TEMP
ORA-06512: at "CTXSYS.DRUE", line 171
ORA-06512: at "CTXSYS.TEXTINDEXMETHODS", line 316

 

The index size during creation is huge(hundreds of GB).

This problem is not found on a similar DB with same settings or patching level.
