Rman backup fails with ORA-19510 and ORA-27045 : Connection timed out (Doc ID 280831.1)

Symptoms

For the purposes of this document, the following fictitious environment is used as an example to describe the procedure:

Database/Instance Name  = vasdb01
Directory = /dbdump/dbdump_vasdb01/backups and all subdirectories

 

While taking backup on the NFS mounted file system getting interminnent error:

RMAN-03007: retryable error occurred during execution of command: backup
RMAN-07004: unhandled exception during command execution on channel dev1
RMAN-10035: exception raised in RPC: ORA-19510: failed to set size of 500000 blocks for file
"/dbdump/dbdump_vasdb01/backups/vasdb01/vasdb01_db_t526507263_s66030_p16" (blocksize=512)
ORA-27045: unable to close the file
SVR4 Error: 145: Connection timed out
Additional information: 4
RMAN-10031: ORA-19624 occurred during call to DBMS_BACKUP_RESTORE.BACKUPPIECECREATE
