OPatch Encounters Issues During Make on Unix Based "Client Only" Installations (Doc ID 282532.1)

Symptoms

 Using OPatch to install a patch on an Oracle client only installation* fails when running make commands.

 * A client only installation is an Oracle Home with just the client installed and no RDBMS.

OPatch encounters the following issues during Make:

There were problems running make commands. The errors encountered were:

Error for command: cd /oracle/9.2.0.5/rdbms/lib

make -f ins_rdbms.mk client_sharedlib 2>&1
