How to run Orion on Exadata db node to test grid disk I/O (Doc ID 2825935.1)

Last updated on DECEMBER 08, 2021

Applies to:

Oracle Database - Enterprise Edition - Version 19.10.0.0.0 to 19.13.0.0.0 [Release 19]
Linux x86-64

Goal

The first goal of this note is to explain how to setup Orion configuration on an Exadata db node in order to run an IO test on cell grid disks. Read carefully the Orion Documentation before using this note. A NON READ ONLY RUN CAUSES DATA LOSS. DO NOT EXECUTE A NON READ ONLY RUN ON ANY KIND OF SYSTEM (PRODUCTION / PRE-PRODUCTION / TEST / etc) POPULATED WITH DATA. Mind also that a READ ONLY RUN might cause performance degradation to the other applications. DO NOT USE A READ ONLY run while other business critical applications are running.
