Redo log shipping getting Failed With Error ORA-16086 (Doc ID 2829253.1)

Symptoms

Either of the below symptoms will apply

  1. The error column in  v$archive_dest at Primary Database reports ORA-16086, for the destinations used by Standby Database.

  2. Standby redo logs not being used, even though they are created with same size as that of primary. You will see below errors in standby alert log. 

            RFS[1]: No standby redo logfiles available for T-1
            RFS[1]: No standby redo logfiles selected (reason:7)


           Errors in file <path of the rfs trace file>:
           ORA-19527: physical standby redo log must be renamed
           ORA-00312: online log 10 thread 1: '< Path of the Standby Redo log file>'
