This feature can be used by Oracle DBA
This is a new feature introduced in Oracle 10g. Using this feature you can move data files from within Oracle without ever 'physically' logging into the operating system itself. This feature provides one more option when doing common database administrative tasks such as simple storage management, where we require to free up space on a disk.
