ORA-00600 [1433] and Instance Failure From DBWx or LGWR Processes (Doc ID 285991.1)

Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

The following symptoms will be observed:

a) ORA-00600[1433] or multiple occurences will be reported in the alert log.
b) LGWR or DBWx may terminate the instance.

The alert log might also show additional problems prior to the 600[1433] error.

The stack will be similar to:-
... ksaamb ksasnd ksbasend kcrfws ...

The trace file(s) will report : KSAAMB: fatal error out of msg blks after 60 sec timeout
The key function that needs to be present in the stack trace is KSAAMB

In some cases specific information in the trace will show a section called 'Forward Links'
and if so please see the Notes/BUGS section at the end of this article for more specific
information.
