Last updated on MAY 02, 2022

Applies to:

Oracle Database - Enterprise Edition - Version 11.2.0.4 and later
Enterprise Manager for Oracle Database - Version 13.3.0.0.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

This is an example of how to create a report of completed backups on OEM.
The main goal of the report is to provide an overview of the latest backups for each database.
The report does not check for backup errors, it only shows how many hours have passed since the last successfully completed backup.

This example is not intended to replace any other backup tool, but it may be useful in addition to your own backup checks. It is a different perspective on backup history.

Sample Output

Warning examples

If a full backup fails, the report shows only the time that has elapsed since the last full backup completed successfully.
If a backup archive failed, but the next manual backup archive completed successfully, the report shows only the time that has elapsed since the last backup.
If a backup was not started at all for some reason, there is no rman error, but the last successful backup is old and the report displays a warning.
