Symptoms

NOTE: In the examples that follow, user details, cluster names, hostnames, directory paths, filenames, etc. represent a fictitious sample (and are used to provide an illustrative example only). Any similarity to actual persons, or entities, living or dead, is purely coincidental and not intended in any manner.

Step 9, InstallBDASoftware, of Mammoth expansion fails with "No Presto metadata available for bda", on existing cluster hosts, on clusters which have Upgraded OL6 to OL7.
No error is raised on the new hosts being expanded into the cluster.

Note that multiple packages can raise this error.  This note uses the package libRmath as an example.

1. Errors on the existing hosts, from the corresponding log on each host, /opt/oracle/BDAMammoth/bdaconfig/tmp/pagent-<AFFECTED_HOSTNAME>-<TIMESTAMP>.log, look like:

<MAMMOTH_HOSTNAME> puppet-master[18200]: (//<AFFECTED_HOSTNAME>.<DOMAIN>/Puppet) Execution of '/usr/bin/yum -d 0 -e 0 -y inst
all <PACKAGE>' returned 1: No Presto metadata available for bda

Using an example package of libRmath, the error looks like:

<MAMMOTH_HOSTNAME> puppet-master[18200]: (//<AFFECTED_HOSTNAME>.<DOMAIN>/Puppet) Execution of '/usr/bin/yum -d 0 -e 0 -y inst
all libRmath' returned 1: No Presto metadata available for bda

2. Checking the package on each affected host as below indicates that the OL7 version of the package is installed, but the OL6 version of the package resides in the bda repository.
