ORA-08176 can occur while query is getting executed in active dataguard instance from primary by using DRIVING_SITE hint (Doc ID 2898020.1)

Symptoms

A distributed query that is run from a primary database and accessing a table from Active dataguard database using DB LINK and using DRIVING_SITE hint can encounter below error

In the below example, Table1 is residing in primary database and Table2 is residing in standby database

 

Changes

The query is executed with DRIVING_SITE hint from primary database, where the execution of the query happens in the remote ADG database
