After JDK Update, HBase Region Server Fails With "KDC has no support for encryption type"; "kinit" Fails With Same Error

Symptoms
After updating the JDK on Big Data Appliance, the HBase Region Server on a given node is unable to start, showing "Failed to start the role" in Cloudera Manager.
The following errors occur in the Region Server log at the time of the failure:

Changes
JDK was updated on all nodes of the BDA cluster.
On the node having the issue, the java.security file was not updated.
