Managed ODP Cancel Command Breaks Connection ORA-03111 (Doc ID 2931474.1)

Symptoms

When the CANCEL command is called on the running .NET code, ODPM throws ORA-03111 and crashes the application, where as Unmanaged ODP.NET throws ORA-01013: user requested cancel of current operation.

Managed ODP.NET driver breaks immediately with ORA-03111 after CANCEL is called :


Changes

 Customer upgraded Managed ODP.NET from Oracle client 12.1.0.2 to 12.2.0.1. The issue reproduced in Oracle client 19c as well.
