Symptoms

Using generic connectivity and the IBM iSeries ODBC driver to select data from DB2 running on an AS400 gives the error -

ERROR:
ORA-28500: connection from ORACLE to a non-Oracle system returned this message:
[Generic Connectivity Using ODBC][unixODBC][IBM][iSeries Access ODBC
Driver][DB2 UDB]SQL7008 - <table-name> in <library-name> not valid for operation. (SQL State:S1000; SQL Code: -7008)
ORA-02063: preceding 2 lines from database_link_name
