How to Reprovision a USB Drive Incorrectly Containing an ISO Image to Reimage a Healthy BDA X6-2/X5-2 Server (Doc ID 2961695.1)

Last updated on JULY 20, 2024

Applies to:

Big Data Appliance Integrated Software - Version 5.2.0 and later
Linux x86-64

Goal

In the case described in, Rebooting a Healthy BDA X6-2/X5-2 Server Reimages the Server (Doc ID 2962554.1), the content of the BDA USB drive on the affected host, needs to be re-created from a healthy host where the contents of the BDA USB drive contain an ISO image to reboot the host into the OS.  This is done using the bdaredousb script.  The healthy host must be in the same cluster as the affected host. The host where the USB drive is being copied from must have the same kernel version as the affected host where the USB drive is being re-provisioned.

NOTE: In the examples that follow, user details, cluster names, hostnames, directory paths, filenames, etc. represent a fictitious sample (and are used to provide an illustrative example only). Any similarity to actual persons, or entities, living or dead, is purely coincidental and not intended in any manner.
