ADO/OraOLEDB Application Fail with "Unspecified Error" After Applying WINDBBP 19.15 (Doc ID 2977579.1)

Symptoms

After applying WINDBBP 19.15 / 21.6, an ADO/OraOLEDB application fails with "Unspecified Error".

This problem occurs when the following conditions are met:

• Fetches a large number of records more than Fetch Size (default 100)
• The row size of one record is large enough, such as the below example "select * from TESTTABLE"
• Contains one or more LOB columns
• Use adUseClient for CursorLocation

Depending on the number of records to fetch, reproducibility has been reported as follows:

When reducing the number of selected records like below, the error turns into a "Data provider or other service returned an E_FAIL status."

Changes

Applying WINDBBP 19.15 / 21.6 or later version.
