How to Remove a Disk from one DataNode and Add it Back (Doc ID 2997442.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 01, 2024

Applies to:

Big Data Appliance Integrated Software - Version 5.2.0 and later
Linux x86-64

Goal

How to remove a mount point from a specific DataNode and add it back.  Removing a mount point from a specific DataNode might be used if a disk is being replaced, but it has not yet failed, and the disk's mount point can not be otherwise unmounted.  Generally there is no need to do this.  It is best to rely on the bdadiskutility via, How to Configure a BDA Server Disk After Disk Replacement With the bdadiskutility Utility (Doc ID 2642582.1), to do all the configuration work.
