ASM instance terminating with ORA error 481 (Doc ID 3004736.1)

Symptoms

In RAC environment, ASM instance terminates as soon as it starts with ORA error 481.

This is NOT applicable to the environment if there is only one private interface as shown by oifcfg getif

  eg.
  $ oifcfg getif 
 
  eth0  <subnet id>  global  cluster_interconnect,public,asm

Changes

After OS patching. But this can happen in other scenarios as well
