Symptoms

If a user has a TLS option such as "REQUIRE SSL", login attempt via UNIX domain socket using the mysql command fails even if an appropriate credentials are given.

Connect via 127.0.0.1 or specify --protocol=TCP option

Specify --ssl-mode=REQUIRED

Remove TLS requirements from a user definition, and use require_secure_connection option instead
