19c: LMS is Not Running in Real-Time with ORA-00800 [Set Priority Failed] Error Which May Cause Potential RAC Database Performance Issues (Doc ID 3012126.1)

Last updated on APRIL 04, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Database - Enterprise Edition - Version 19.21.0.0.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Oracle RAC databases use and rely on (to a certain degree) real time (RT) processes in the stack. It has been observed in different platforms that the certain processes with high priority processes not actually running in high priority. This effects Oracle cache fusion performance, instance crashes etc.

Following underscore parameter values are already present in the RAC database.

_high_priority_processes LMS*|LM1*|LM2*|LM3*|LM4*|LM5*| LM6*|LM7*|LM8*|LM9*|LM*|LCK0|CKPT|DBRM|RMS0|LGWR|CR*|RS0*|RS1*|RS2* TRUE
_highest_priority_processes VKTM|LG*|LMS* FALSE

Permission of "oradism" is looking good on all nodes.
