Goal

This document explains how to interpret version specification for MySQL 8.x series appeared in "Supported Versions Affected" column of the Risk Matrix of Oracle Critical Patch Updates (CPU). The version specification is a bit confusing because of newly introduced release model; Innovation and Long Term Support (LTS) releases. This document is aimed to solve ambiguities caused by those releases.
