Under Certain Circumstances Expdp Exports the $P table - ORA-00955 Seen at Import, failing to recreate Oracle Text Indexes as part of the import procedure (Doc ID 3038315.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 08, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Database - Enterprise Edition - Version 19.22.0.0.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Under certain circumstances expdp exports the $P table which is a dependent object of an Oracle Text index if SUBSTRING_INDEX is used.

impdp creates the $P table as a regular table and thus CREATE INDEX for the domain index of type CONTEXT fails:

Processing object type SCHEMA_EXPORT/TABLE/INDEX/DOMAIN_INDEX/INDEX

ORA-39083: Object type INDEX:"OWNER"."INDEX_NAME" failed to create with error:

ORA-29855: error occurred in the execution of ODCIINDEXCREATE routine

ORA-20000: Oracle Text error:

DRG-50857: oracle error in drvxtab.create_index_tables

ORA-00955: name is already used by an existing object
