Symptoms

While trying to access a BFILE object using DBMS_LOB.FILEOPEN produces ORA-22288 if you use a directory name containing accented characters like à, è, ì, ò, ù.


ORA-22288: file or LOB operation FILEOPEN failed
The system cannot find the file specified.
