Symptoms
- The Oracle patch application process failed for the Oracle DB home in a cluster ASM setup.
- Error message: "opatch apply is failing on the DB home due to permission issues on the ContentsXML directory path."
- Diagnostic output:
- Verified that the Oracle user encountered permission issues when trying to write to the ContentsXML directory.
- Attempting to create a file using the "touch" command failed, indicating insufficient permissions.
