Last updated on MARCH 25, 2025

Applies to:

Oracle Database - Enterprise Edition - Version 19.3.0.0.0 and later
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure - Exadata Cloud Service - Version N/A and later
Gen 1 Exadata Cloud at Customer (Oracle Exadata Database Cloud Machine) - Version N/A and later
Gen 2 Exadata Cloud at Customer - Version N/A and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

The command "show database verbose <STANDBY DBNAME>" does not display all the expected information.

Multiple instances are displayed in Instance(s):.
HostName(), StaticConnectIdentifier(), TopWaitEvents(), SidName() are all marked with a (*) indicating that the values should be checked on the specific instance.
Log file locations are also marked with (*) for instance-specific checks.

If the database is RAC, this is the expected output. These information should be checked by executing "show instance" command.
However, if the database is a single-instance database, this is not expected output.
