Symptoms

Rebooting the server does not perform automatic clean shutdown of the database . Thus during the startup of the database, crash recovery is performed. This can be verified in the Alert.log

In the registry :

ORA_SID_SHUTDOWN  TRUE
ORA_SID_SHUTDOWN_TIMEOUT  30
ORA_SID_SHUTDOWNTYPE  i

Changes

The problem occurs when SQLNET.AUTHENTICATION_SERVICES= (NTS) in sqlnet.ora.
