Required_checkpoint_scn Not Moving forward after upgrade from 10.1.0.3 To 10.1.0.4 (Doc ID 311069.1)

Symptoms

RDBMS 10.1.0.4.0 recently upgraded from 10.1.0.3.0 patchset

Database was restarted
Existing Capture process defined on this server
After restarting the dastabase which restarted the capture process, the capture process hung in INITIALIZING state
Capture process needs older archive logs, scanning very old archive logs files
forcing checkpoint makes no difference with _checkpoint_force = y

Changes

Upgrade from patchset level 10.1.0.3.0 to 10.1.0.4.0
