Last updated on JULY 22, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Database - Enterprise Edition - Version 10.1.0.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

You ran out of space in your flash recovery area disk group or file system when trying to archive a log and this caused your system to hang.  You believe that some of the files in the flash recovery area are reclaimable and do not understand why Oracle did not clean them up automatically before running out of space.  You have your archive destination set to 'location=<flash recovery area disk group or file system>'
