Symptoms

When running delete commands, RMAN is unable to find old or expired backup information when connecting in nocatalog.

Problem does not reproduce when using a catalog.

Examples

RMAN> delete expired backup;
      delete expired copy;
      delete expired archivelog all;
      delete archivelog until time 'sysdate-14';

Commands end on:

RMAN-06003: ORACLE error from target database: RMAN-20242: specification does
not match any archive log in the recovery catalog

 

delete obsolete;

RMAN retention policy will be applied to the command
RMAN retention policy is set to recovery window of 8 days
allocated channel: ORA_DISK_1
channel ORA_DISK_1: sid=11 devtype=DISK
no obsolete backups found
