Oracle10g: RMAN will not restore in parallel from tape (Doc ID 358171.1)

The database is an Oracle 10g database. You are using RMAN for backup and allocating multiple tape channels. When you restore allocating the same number of channels, only one channel does the restore serially possibly affecting performance.  

Changes

New code has been added to look for the sbt flags returned from the media api. These have always been in the SBT 2.0 functional specification for the media api but in pre-10g releases we did not have code to look for a restore flag from the mml.
