Symptoms
Oracle Enterprise Edition without Spatial but Oracle Locator installed
Oracle Standard Edition
After upgrading database from 10.1 to 10.2.0.1 or 10.2.0.2 Spatial Indexes cannot be dropped or recreated without errors
Errors that can be seen:
ERROR at line 1 :
ORA-29856: error occurred in the execution of ODCIINDEXDROP routine
ORA-29400: data cartridge error
ORA-00942: table or view does not exist
ORA-06512: at "MDSYS.SDO_INDEX_METHOD_10I", line 27
and
ERROR at line 1 :
ORA-29855: error occurred in the execution of ODCIINDEXCREATE routine
ORA-06550: line 1, column 8:
PLS-00201: identifier 'MDSYS.MDPRVT_IDX' must be declared
ORA-06550: line 1, column 8:
