Optimizing Single Datafile Restore/Duplicate (Doc ID 365862.1)

Symptoms

RMAN restore of an individual datafile, set of datafiles or individual tablespace takes a long time to complete; restore time is much longer than the time taken to do the original backup of the datafile/tablespace.

OR

RMAN backup based duplicate skip tablespace is taking a long time during the restore process.
