RAC Install Reports 'Access Denied' Error While Copying Files to Remote Node

During the final stage (Remote operations) of a RAC install (CRS or RDBMS), the installer reports an error while copying files to a remote node.
The installer log 'installActions<date_time>.log' for this run - located under 'C:\Program Files\Oracle\Inventory\logs ' - shows the following messages:
Despite the error message, which indicates that the installer failed to copy the entire software home, the remote RAC node(s) will actually have most of the files and only miss some. The error however cannot be ignored.
