Symptoms
Database and Listener started, but no services are registered. You may see entries like this in listener.log:
30-NOV-2006 16:44:53 * (CONNECT_DATA=(CID=(PROGRAM=)(HOST=__jdbc__)(USER=))(SID=<instance_name>)) * (ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=tcp)(HOST=xx.xx.xx.xx)(PORT=xxxx)) * establish * <instance_name> * 12505
TNS-12505: TNS:listener does not currently know of SID given in connect descriptor
Changes
One of the following:
- Restarted the listener while the database was running, and no static entries in SID_LIST_listener.
- Created startup scripts or changed services startup sequence.
