Applies to:Oracle Text - Version 10.1.0.2 to 10.2.0.5 [Release 10.1 to 10.2]
Information in this document applies to any platform.
Oracle Text does have a internal dependency on Oracle Data Mining (ODM), option available in Oracle Database Enterprise Edition (EE), due to the SVM classifier and the KMEANS clustering functions. This dependency is supposed to be transparent and therefore does not require Text user to license Data Mining in order to get all the Text features to work.
Text breaks if DMSYS schema objects have been accidentally removed, e.g. ctxsys.drvodm package cannot be validated and fails with PLS-201 and ORA-904 error.
Reinstalling ODM can point to wrong public synonyms and clustering functions may fail with ORA-932 error.
