The purpose of this article is to assist Replication DBAs in configuring Oracle Streams Replication at the tablespace level. This is a new feature introduced in 10g


To be used by Oracle support analysts and replication DBAs to setup tablespace level replication using Streams in Oracle 10.1 or higher.

This article discusses the steps to setup Streams Replication from one Oracle database to another.

In the examples given :

Source Global Database Name : AMER.ORACLE.COM
Destination Global Database Name : EURO.ORACLE.COM
Source Database Link : AMER.ORACLE.COM
Destination Database Link : EURO.ORACLE.COM
Source Directory object : SRC_DIR_OBJ
Destination Directory Object : DEST_DIR_OBJ
Tablespaces used : USERS1 & USERS2
