Applies to:Oracle Net Services - Version 10.1.0.3 to 126.96.36.199 [Release 10.1 to 12.1]
Microsoft Windows x64 (64-bit) - Version: 2008 R2
This document is limited in scope to connections on Windows servers. The
Remote SQL*Plus connections to newly created database hang indefinitely. Local connections are successful. Listener and database are installed in same ORACLE_HOME. No errors reported in listener.log. Connection shows 'established'. There may be no errors in a sqlnet trace, depending on the version of client. In some versions, you may find the following stack in a client trace:
[30-MAR-2009 19:46:41:208] niqme: exit
[30-MAR-2009 19:46:41:208] niomapnserror: exit
[30-MAR-2009 19:46:41:208] niqme: entry
[30-MAR-2009 19:46:41:208] niqme: reporting NSG-12504 error as ORA-12504
This is likely a new installation.
