 Install hp C++ prior to installing Oracle 10.2 on Alpha OpenVMS
 Significant changes to orauser.com.
 Oracle 10.2.X MUST be installed on an ODS-5 formatted disk.
 The Central Inventory directory must reside on an ODS-5 formatted disk.
 
 Include the OUI Central Inventory directories in your backups.
  
 Required format for Net configuration files.
 The memory requirements are incorrect in the install guide.
 Do not use rooted logicals.

 Certain database initialization parameters are unsupported on OpenVMS
 Differences in C++ Libraries between Alpha OpenVMS and I64 (Itanium) OpenVMS
 Floating Point Format is now IEEE.
 Create your oracle_home, Central inventory, and scratch areas prior to using OUI.
 Flash recovery area and size are set up by default.
 OpenVMS logicals and symbols for 10.2.X need to be deassigned prior to using a pre-10.X code tree.
 Unix style directory paths are used throughout Oracle RDBMS 10.2.X.
 The extended file format (ODS-5) needs parse_style=extended.
  
 Establish a performance baseline in your current and planned environment.
 How to relink Oracle.
 Initialization parameters disk_asynch_io and tape_asynch_io.
 The Q000 background process.
 Ensure correct ownership and permissions of your code tree.
 Ensure that certain OpenVMS utilities can be invoked.
