Installation of an one-off patch with opatch version 1.0.0.0.55 fails with errors :

The patch directory area must be a number. ERROR: OPatch failed because of problems in patch area.

Command syntax :

opatch apply -silent <DIRECTORY>/<PATCH_ID>

e.g.
opatch -apply -silent /stage/patch/4741897

No log information is written in the directory $ORACLE_HOME/.patch_storage/<patch-ID>
