When creating a table with a CLOB column in a tablespace with Automatic Segment Space allocation, the LOB segment created only grows and space is not reused even if rows have been deleted.
If the table is used extensively, this can lead to the tablespace filling up.
Alter table xxxx shrink space; does not have any effect. Truncate table works but may not be feasible.
If the same table is created in a tablespace with Manual Segment Space allocation, the space is reused.
