Note: Gathering table stats for a GLOBAL TEMPORARY TABLE is possible from 11.2 onwards.
Symptoms
Optimizer statistics cannot be gathered for ON COMMIT DELETE ROWS global temporary tables.
Such statistics, reflecting a representative volume of data from such a table, may often be needed in order to get good execution plans. The Optimizer Dynamic Sampling feature may not always suffice for this requirement.
